The numbers

What a skill game actually earns a location

The honest answer is a range, not a number — and the range is published, so you can check it.

The published averages

Across the manufacturer's own data, average annual net profit to the location, for a site running roughly two and a half terminals and one redemption terminal, looks like this:

  • $18,250 a year in new markets
  • $35,405 a year across all markets
  • $64,970 a year in high-performing markets

These are net to the location, not gross takings on the machines. It is worth being precise about that, because the two numbers are very different and the gross figure is the one usually quoted.

What moves a location up the range

Foot traffic does most of the work. Machine revenue tracks the number of people through the door more closely than anything else, which is why a busy fuel center and a quiet bar with the same equipment earn very different amounts.

After that it is hours, placement and dwell time. A location open twenty-four hours has more opportunity than one closing at nine. A terminal in sight of the register earns more than one around a corner. This is the entire reason we survey a site before proposing anything.

What it costs you

Nothing. Republic buys the equipment, installs it, services it and carries the licensing. There is no purchase and no lease on your side. You provide the floor space and take an agreed share of what the equipment earns.

If it stops earning, we change it out. That is our risk to carry, not yours.

Wondering what your own location would earn? Tell us about the site and we will give you a figure based on its actual floor plan and hours, not an average.
